Venue Facilities

Bridgwater Unit has recently been refurbished and has a wealth of facilities which can be used by people hiring the hall. Please see below for a highlight of what we have to offer and please contact us for further information.

Main Hall

The main hall is a fantastic space to hold any event, small or large, with its wooden floor and high ceiling. The hall itself is 15.5 metres long by almost 8.8 metres wide and can accommodate a variety of events for up to 150 people.

The hall itself can be layed out to host anything, from a formal sit-down dinner for around 100 people, a large conference seating around 120 people or as a large open indoor space where a bouncy castle could be erected for a children’s party. If using the venue for work or training purposes, there are a number of smaller classrooms which can be used as break-out rooms capable of holding 4 to 20 people each.

The hall can be decorated in a variety of ways and can really be personalised for your event.

Wi-Fi can also be provided throughout the building free of charge as well as a tannoy system which is linked to each of the rooms in the unit. A mounted projector is also capable of projecting onto our 4m x 4m screen in the main hall allowing the use of pictures, videos or presentations.

Bar

The unit has a large licensed bar offering a range of soft and alcoholic drinks, including bottled and draught. The bar is staffed by Sea Cadets’ adult volunteers.

If you would like the bar open during your event, please inform us of this when booking.

Other Available Rooms

In addition to the main hall, the building has 6 further rooms which can accommodate between 4 and 20 people.

These rooms are excellent for training, meeting or  ‘break-out’ rooms and all have whiteboards and notice boards. 

A number of the rooms also have smart screen TVs with a variety of connections and a mobile projector can also be arranged if required.  

Kitchen

The Sea Cadet Hall boasts a well-equipped kitchen with commercial oven, microwave, plates, cutlery and utensils.The kitchen also has a hatch to serve directly out onto the main deck.

Located by the kitchen is an area roughly 4.5m by 4.5m that can be used to present buffet food or as additional catering space.

Use of the kitchen for drinks and cold food preparation is included in the Hall hire. Use of the kitchen for hot food preparation is available at an additional cost.

On-Site Parking

Private parking is located within the perimeter of the unit, which is fenced and covered by CCTV. It can accomodate up to 25 cars when allowing for everyone to come and go as they please, or around 35 cars when parked closely.

If you require more parking than this, there is plenty of parking outside the units compound on a quiet backroad with spaces for many more vehicles. There is also a public pay and display car park nearby if required.

Entrance Foyer

The entrance foyer has one main reception desk which can be used for welcoming guests or alternatively as desk to provide welcome drinks or canapés.

This space can also be decorated to showcase your event to create a fantastic first impression and could have picture boards, banners or other displays as well as tables for drinks to be served on arrival.
